Dear friends,

The Lord continues to expand the tent pegs at Arapohue Centre to help more people. The new accommodation for a support worker and his family is well underway, and after the outside windows have been painted, our guest team moves on to substantial work on the interior.

The guest team continues to learn from Gary, Jaime and each other, gaining valuable building and renovation skills, work ethic and physical strength. We're blessed to hear guests saying things like, "I'm happy to be alive - and happy to be clean and sober", and "I'm just thankful that this place is here."

Thanks for being part of this wonderful team at this holistic Christian rehab.

Stay blessed,
Ray, Jan, Gary, Jaime and the A-team at Arapohue Centre

The Schoolhouse project

The massive job of restoring the Schoolhouse exterior is nearing completion, thanks to Shawn and the team from S & T House Ltd builders, Stevens Plumbing & Gas and C & C Electrical. Painting the windows is still being finished. The focus now turns to the interior, which is also a huge job.

The Schoolhouse is not only to house a support worker and family, but will also be an income earner for Arapohue Centre. Our remaining budget is under pressure, and we need help due to the fuel prices pushing building materials up. If you can help, please see the items still needed in the urgent needs list below.

Study continues for Ray, Jan and Jaime

Ray, Jan and Jaime spent the weekend away at wananga (group class) in Whangarei for their study with Ringa Atawhai Matauranga Ltd toward the Level 4 Certificate in Health & Wellbeing, Mental Health & Addictions.

The 6 modules include Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi, The Mental Health Environment, Law & Ethics, Co-Existing Disorders, Kaupapa Maori Mental Health and the 200-hour Workplace Assessment.

Graduation is on December 12. This is full-time study and a big commitment, on top of everything else.

Visits from friends

Ray and Jan were blessed by a visit from our legal tegel and his lovely wife - Graham and Sandy Simpson. Graham is with Skeates Law. Both Graham and Sandy have a big heart for helping whanau through recovery.
