Restoring the ancient ruins

and rebuilding the places that have been devastated for generations ...

Dear friends,

Arapohue Retreat is a place where the scripture in Isaiah 61:4 comes alive... the people, the land and the buildings are being restored at the same time.

We welcome new guest Daniil (born in the Ukraine). He joins the mighty band of brothers: DJ, Lucas, Jaime, Dorian and James... and volunteers Gary, Richard, Jon, Ray and Jan.

Ray, Jan and the A-team
Arapohue Retreat

They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
Isaiah 61:4

Insurance is not your friend... until you need it.

There's been a big investment in time and money into the buildings at Arapohue Retreat. It's time to be good stewards of the restoration work and renew the insurance on the buildings.

The Lodge, Dargaville House, the Cottage, and the Farmhouse are insured with FMG Insurance.

We are very grateful to FMG for discounting our annual renew fee to $12,347.97 which they have extended to be paid by 31 July, 2025.

Could you please help us by donating quarter, half or the full amount before this date?

Gutter protection: The Lodge

Special thanks this month to Gutter Solutionz who gave us a great deal and an excellent installation of the Lodge gutter protection which was VIP because of the old Pōhutukawa tree in front of the Lodge.

Thanks to our partners and volunteers

We are grateful to Gary Codlin who has returned as our volunteer building supervisor. Thanks also to Pastor Moses Prao from the Nazarene Church, Dargaville who is very supportive of God's work here at Arapohue Retreat.

Next week Gary is working with 4 builders from the USA who are part of a ministry outreach team from the Nazarene Church.

See the poster for details on a series of upcoming meetings at the Nazarene Church, Dargaville which we are taking our guests to.

Thanks to Richard Burgoyne who is volunteering to do cooking and cleaning at the camp to assist Jan while her wrist heals.

Many thanks to lovely Deborah White from Dargaville who is helping Jan out with the gardening.

Big thanks to a local church for their generous donation that covered wood and ranch slider for the Lodge last month, plus the generous donor from Christchurch for covering the July interest payment. Heart-felt thanks to the wonderful donors who contributed $12,000 which has enabled us to keep up with the materials needed for the builders working on the restoration of the outside of the Lodge.
