From strength to strength
... moving ahead in leaps and bounds on strong foundations ...

Dear friends,
It's for such a time as this that the old bush camp is being restored as a healing and recovery retreat. Thanks for coming along on the journey, we couldn't do it without you.
There's nothing more satisfying than seeing the God of the universe lifting the heads of his people and the heavy yokes of oppression and addiction from their shoulders so they step into their future with hope on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.
On a practical note we have broken the back of the work on the old Lodge. We're now working on Stage 2 of the Lodge restoration around the back: the foundations, dismantling the old kitchen structure, building a cellar, a new deck, pathways and a herb garden. The guests have changed gear and are rising to meet these challenges with Gary Codlin leading the charge. Things are cracking along at a blistering pace with the A-Team.
Ray, Jan and the A-team
Arapohue Retreat
Thanks to our partners who have seen the vision for the healing oasis at Arapohue Retreat and faithfully sowed into it financially and in prayer. We have literally moved mountains together in people's lives, while at the same time restoring the old bush camp.
Lodge restoration Stage 2
We've begun Stage 2 of the Lodge restoration: demo of the old kitchen at the back of the Lodge (salvaging the good wood), securing the foundations with concrete, building new paths and a brick herb garden, and replacing the old showers with new food cellar and a laundry.
This is a substantial project that needs some urgent donor funding:
- $1,980 to cover builders mix from Harrison Contracting, concrete mixer rental plus limestone from John Dreadon Contracting;
- $520 for concrete and drainage pipe from Carters.
We're hoping a team from the Nazarene Church, Dargaville can visit in July with some carpenters amongst them to help with some labour.
Would you be prepared to donate this month toward this vital project to shore up the Lodge foundations, safe and solid paths, and a much-needed food storage space and barbecue area behind the main Lodge building at Arapohue Retreat.
Guest gym
Jaime, Lucas and DJ decided to clean and paint the Lodge games room and set up a gym. We celebrate their initiative and the strength they are building.
I’m on parole from Ngawha Prison... and a 501 from Australia. Since coming to Arapohue Retreat I've found many answers to my spiritual searching and I’ve been introduced to how to have a living relationship with Jesus. I enjoy the work tasks at Arapohue and have been learning heaps from the teaching videos we watch. It's great to be part of a team that works together and learns together.
Lodge gutter protection
Our gutters (pictured below) one month after our brand new Lodge roof installation - chocka with leaves and muck which ends up in our tanks. We urgently need mesh gutter guards from Guttersolutionz to keep the Pōhutukawa tree leaves out of the Lodge gutters at a cost of $3,900. Can you please help us this month before more heavy rains come?
Selwyn Stevens resource material
We need to restock Selwyn Stevens indispensable resources which we use often, at a cost of $538.
These books are crucial keys to open people's eyes to deception of the cults, secret societies and unlocking generational blessings. Can you help us with this please?
If you haven't seen Selwyn's material before, you need to check it out at Jubilee Resources.
